Town Star is a competitive farming simulation where you build and manage your own thriving town from the ground up. Plant crops, raise livestock, manufacture goods, and trade with neighboring towns to climb the global leaderboards. Strategic placement of buildings and careful resource management are the keys to creating the most prosperous town.

Town Star was initially built using PlayCanvas. I led the team that stood up the entire game from the ground up using the Godot engine with C#, in around 9 months. During that time I worked closely with game designers, artists, QA, and several other engineering teams developing the back-end, blockchain tech, and DevOps for the game. Two months later the legacy game was sunset, and Town Star continued being the most successful game the company had released. Read the postmortem for the entire story.

I architected and built: gameplay, UI, input, camera, and networking. Since Town Star was a LiveOps game, the game design data moved in realtime. I worked on a Protobuf-based data delivery system that pushed update through all the layers of the stack with minimum latency.

I led the front-end/ game team which included hiring, onboarding, mentoring, performance reviews, and laying out the roadmap.
